1. Who we are
Baluation is run by Baluation Services Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. We decide how the personal data described here is used. Questions or complaints go to our Grievance Officer, Prakash (Founder), at someone@baluation.com.
2. What we collect
- Your account: name, email, password (kept only as a one-way hash), your firm's name and GSTIN, CIN or LLPIN, your RV registration number, and your cities. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, email and an account number for you.
- Your work: assignment details, documents, site photos, notes, workings and reports. A photo's location is used only to tell how far it was taken from the site. Your work may include details of your clients and property owners; you are responsible for having the right to add them.
- Use and security: when you sign in, your IP address and browser, how many lookups and map images you use each day, and security events.
- Cookies: one cookie keeps you signed in, and a short-lived one is used during Google sign-in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Why we use it
- to run Baluation for you and your firm;
- to keep accounts secure and stop misuse, including daily limits and checks that a person, not a script, is signing in;
- to email you about your account: confirming your email, password resets, invites and notices;
- to improve Baluation. When valuers choose a guideline rate at a place, that choice helps suggest rates to others nearby, without saying who chose it or for which firm;
- to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
4. Consent
You agree to this policy when you create an account. You can withdraw that consent by closing your account; we then stop using your data, except as the law requires.
5. Who sees it
- People in your firm, as their roles allow.
- Companies that run parts of Baluation for us: network and security (Cloudflare, including its human check), email delivery, and Google if you choose Google sign-in. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
6. Where it is kept
Baluation's data is stored in India. Some of the companies above may process data outside India under their own terms.
7. How long we keep it
While your account is open. After an account or workspace is closed, we delete its data within 90 days, except records the law requires us to keep longer, such as security logs.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, two-step sign-in is available, access follows each person's role, and files are shared only through short-lived links. No system is perfect: if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
9. Your rights
You can ask for a summary of your personal data and who it was shared with, have it corrected, updated or erased, nominate someone to act for you, and have a complaint resolved. Write to the Grievance Officer above. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Children
Baluation is not for anyone under 18.
11. Changes
We will post changes here with a new date, and email you about changes that matter.
